A bit wet at times, but a good turnout considering the road construction nearby.
As with past years, there were a good selection of new rides not present at previous shows, plus some returning regulars and a good turnout from our own members.
August 6th Cruise to Sioux Narrows
Well it was a disappointing night for our Ladies as the stores were closed! The good side of that is there will be more money for gas in the family budget.
As you may have guessed, we did not get rained out this trip to Sioux Narrows. It was a great drive but I'll be sure to bring a fleece from here on because it gets really cool when the sun starts going down.
Everyone decided to hold off on the golfing and just pig out on grub and ice cream. There was live entertainment as well with the vocal group "Sideways" which garnered more attention than our cars, but the evening was still very enjoyable for the nine cars that attended.
It's still a mystery though where some of the members are hiding out on these Wednesday nights.
There is a Poker Derby next Wednesday and we'll end up at the Taits for a BBQ and the presentation of the prizes... a wrist watch and a Radio... good prizes, so be there to win!
August 8th Customer Appreciation BBQ at Piston Ring
A few of us were available to stop by at Piston Ring and enjoy their lunchtime customer appreciation BBQ.
August 13th Poker Derby and BBQ at the Tait's
A Poker Derby cruise through Keewatin with a stop at the government dock and then another stop at the old weigh scale location on Redditt Road, with last card pick at the Tait's. After a tour of the place, we parked ourselves on the deck and enjoyed a wonderful BBQ courtesy of Bill and Donna. Apparently this is a first annual event? If so, we'll see you all next year too!
August 20th Rib night at the Redditt Legion
Another great night courtesy of the gang up at the Redditt Legion. A lovely evening for a drive, and great grub once we arrived. You guessed correctly if you picked Earl to win something, and he did! However, Pierre won the 50 — 50 draw, so somebody else was also successful. I was out of the room at the time, but apparently Bill Tait is glad that I was nowhere around with my camera to catch his birth kiss. Darn!
August 24th Shades of the Past car show at Beausejour
A bit cool at first... we were fighting fogged up windows on our way to McDiarmid's to meet before departure. The cooler weather was later appreciated in downtown Beausejour, as it can be unbearably hot there some years at this end-of-season show. A few less cars compared to some previous years, and some of our regulars couldn't make it, but we still put in a good representation of Ontario this day. Lots of interesting cars, which can be seen in the linked Flickr album.
August 27th Cruise to the 'Dub
A quick cruise through Keewatin, Rabbit Lake area, and ending up for grub at the 'dub...
