Club Related Events

Unless otherwise noted, we now gather at the A&W at 6:00 PM each Wednesday before we cruise (or stay for a show 'n shine at the Dub). Remember, if you meet ANYONE with an old vehicle, be sure to invite them to join us for our events. We would love to see their rides! Prizes are often given.

Club related business in the summer is done when we gather each week. Come at 6:00 PM on those nights for tailgate meetings.

Note that dates and times listed below are preliminary as of March 23rd when this information was last updated. Watch for additions and changes as they become known.

June 24, 2010 5:15 PM NOTE: THIS IS A THURSDAY! John suggests a trip to Sioux Narrows for a meal at the Lazy Loon and possibly some Mini-putt golf if we have time... We'd assemble at Passion Pit for this trip! If you can be there earlier, it would let us get away sooner. Plan for a 5:30 PM SHARP departure time.

July 28, 2010 6:00 PM Cruise to Rushing River for hot dogs and mini-putt golf. Gather at Redden's Esso at Longbow Lake for departure at 6:30 PM SHARP! The road east out of town is now freshly paved and in great shape.

August 28, 2010 11:30 AM — 3 PM Kenora Railway Daze. The club has been invited to show and shine at the Norman Park near the Railway Museum. INFO
September 1, 2010 5:30 PM Year End club BBQ at Norman Park hosted by our club president.
September 8, 2010 5:30 PM Gather at Passion Pit for a run west of Clearwater Bay to Pinewood Restaurant for a meal.

Other Area Events of Interest

A&W will be hosting weekly cruise-in events on Wednesday nights finishing at the end of August. On the nights that we aren't cruising, we'll try to park our cars on the grassy strip next to the sidewalk along the south side of the restaurant.

June 4, 2010 4:00 PM — Show Us Your Colours for Cancer — Show 'N Shine at the Norman Community Centre behind the Dairy Queen. Other events begin at 1:00 PM. Music afternoon and evening and Roast Beef dinner starting at 5:00 PM for $15.00 per plate. Also Dragon Boat rides, penny auction, and assorted vendors.

June 20, 2010 10 AM — 4 PM Father's Day Car Show at Vermillion Bay! Gather at the Arena. No entry fee, free lunch, possible door prizes! There will be a group travelling together that will start from Redden's Esso on HWY 17E at Longbow Lake. Be there on time in order to not miss when they leave. Plan to be there by 8:00 AM.
June 26, 2010 11 AM — 7 PM A and W Saturday is Car Hop Day at A & W.
July 4, 2010 10 AM — 4 PM Falcon Lake Fun Fest Show 'N Shine on the grass — gather at McDiarmid's parking lot at 9:30 AM SHARP for the departure convoy. INFO
August 1, 2010 8 AM — 4 PM Kenora Harbourfest Car Show — Registration: 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM — MAP (click) — Show: 11:00 AM — 4:00 PM.
August 26, 2010 11 AM — 7 PM A and W National Cruise Day at A & W. Prizes awarded from our draw tickets.
August 29, 2010 10 AM — 3 PM Shades of the Past Car Club presents the Shades of the Past Car Show in Beausejour, MB. Free to all participants and spectators. Free picnic for Car Show participants after show. All vehicles please enter on West side of Park Ave. Please bring a tin for the Food Bank bin. Contact Jon Delannay at (204) 268-4467 or jontracy@mts.net. Those wishing to drive there together as a group should gather at McDiarmids for DEPARTURE at 8:30 AM sharp.
